Switching from Yardi Voyager
Moving from Yardi Voyager to ScoutzOS is done by exporting reports as CSV files and uploading them.
Step 1: Export your data from Yardi
You will use Yardi Report Writer to create exports. If you are not familiar with Report Writer, your Yardi admin can help.
Properties:
- Open Report Writer
- Select the Property Information report
- Choose your property set (or select all)
- Make sure these columns are included: Property Code, Property Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Square Feet, Market Rent
- Click Export and choose CSV format
- Save the file
Residents (Tenants):
- In Report Writer, select Resident Information
- Include: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Move-In Date, Unit
- Export as CSV
Leases:
- Select Lease Information or Rent Roll report
- Include: Property, Unit, Resident, Lease Start, Lease End, Monthly Rent, Deposit
- Export as CSV
Step 2: Upload to ScoutzOS
- During ScoutzOS onboarding, select Upload CSV/Excel
- Upload your Property Information CSV first
- ScoutzOS recognizes Yardi column names (sAddr1, sCity, sState, iBedrooms, mMarketRent, etc.) and maps them automatically
- Review and import
- Repeat for Residents and Leases
Tips
- Yardi column names often have prefixes: "s" for string fields (sFirstName), "i" for integer (iBedrooms), "m" for money (mMarketRent). ScoutzOS handles all of these.
- If your Yardi instance uses custom column names, you can manually map them in the preview step.
- For large portfolios (500+ units), consider our white-glove migration service. Email [email protected].
After importing
Check your ScoutzOS dashboard, verify property counts and occupancy, then set up your team and payment processing.
